  • Why is my smoke alarm beeping?

    It could be the battery needs replacing or your alarm needs a clean. Smoke alarms are actually designed to beep so as to make you aware that they need to be maintained. Don’t ignore it and whatever you do, don’t just disconnect it. If cleaning and changing the battery has not stopped the beeping, you will need to look at replacing the alarm. After all, alarms save lives. A clever tip is to use a permanent marker to write the date on the 9-volt battery before placing it in the unit and then mark on your calendar when you will next be changing batteries.
