Drug & Alcohol Testing

Providing Drug & Alcohol Testing in Central Queensland

Reduce Your Risk of WHS Liability

Buddy’s Fire provides drug and alcohol testing to ensure safety in your business or construction site. Not only will this ensure your business remains compliant with all current regulations—but regular testing can also limit the likelihood of worksite accidents and injuries caused by negligence or inebriation.

The consumption of drugs and alcohol becomes a serious concern when affected employees place the rest of your team—and business—at risk. Our team can minimise this risk by conducting ongoing drug and alcohol tests that are accurate, affordable and tailored to the needs of your business. To find out more, get in touch.

Testing at Your Location or Ours

Buddy’s Fire can undertake urine and saliva drug testing and alcohol breath tests at your site, or from our location at 15-25 Chappell Street in North Rockhampton. Typically, there are five forms of testing adopted by industrial and logistics companies to keep their workforce safe, including:

  • Pre-Employment Testing - Before being offered an employment contract or heading out on assignment, testing can help to identify existing drug and alcohol concerns.
  • Voluntary Self Testing – We provide a facility for workers to self-test, empowering them to make the right decisions inside and outside of work.
  • Random Testing – Buddy's can coordinate to attend your workplace to perform drug & Alcohol testing as required. The selection of employees to be tested will be randomized to ensure a fair approach
  • Testing Upon Reasonable Belief – If a worker is showing symptoms aligned with drug or alcohol use, they can be sent for testing.
  • Post-Incident Testing – If an employee is involved in an incident, it’s a good idea to rule out – or in – substance use as a contributing factor.

No matter what type of testing you integrate into your WHS programs, ensure you’re aware of your obligations as an employer. The Queensland Government WorkSafe website provides an overview of the rules and regulations applicable to Central Queensland businesses.
